Frequently Asked Questions
For best results, record from a side angle with your phone held horizontally. Try to keep the entire stroke visible in frame. Natural lighting works best, but pool lighting is usually sufficient. Aim for at least 10-15 seconds of continuous swimming.
Upload any of the four strokes. The Language Model Intelligence analysis, written by Google Gemini, covers freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
You can record videos without a connection, but analysis needs an internet connection because it runs on our servers.
It depends on the video's length and how busy our servers are. When the analysis is done, a "Your swim is ready" notice appears in the app and opens that swim.
Videos are encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest with Google Cloud's default encryption. To write the stroke analysis, we send each video to Google Gemini. Your videos and their analysis are also used to train Wake's models, linked to your account; there is no opt-out yet. To delete a video or your whole account, email support@wakeai.app. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
Videos are private by default. When you upload, you can make a video public, which shows it in the app's Follow feed, or share it with specific people. There is no separate coach plan.
